People often believes that recreating or rebranding of an image might be of positive impact on the consumer satisfaction. It is somehow, not the whole picture which makes a brand or a service even more exciting and compelling among its competitors. I do not believe so. This article is not to defame any existing company or service, but just my own opinions as a tech lover.

Bill Gates dropped out of school so does Steve Jobs? They both did. Back in their old days of rival against each other, Bill dominated the whole ICT industry like any man can never have 'his piece of cake' in the industry. That's what makes them suffer even more than what they have imagined. Microsoft was so rich even the courts wanted to split them away. They're so rich that every successful business relies on their products. Aww..! It was beautiful back then but not innovative.
Jobs lost his own company due to a board decision to remove him from the board of directors. This incident made him to face a lifetime challenge with his rivals. However, he succeeded to have dominant power over his rivals after years of hard work. He made Apple suffer by every mean with his absence. Still he only favored Apple and made things specifically for Apple and he had to BUY out his company again. Innovations and better products also with a completely redesigned style, Apple started to be the most dominant power in the tech industry again after injecting Steve as their CEO. Their phone, notebooks, desktops and servers seems like 'Hey! That's what we've been looking for..!' among the consumers.
Their re-imagination of the whole industry was different. The design guy at Apple became one of the most successful designers in the world not because he's famous, rich or handsome. It's only because he learned what the consumers really want. He made each and every product he worked on at Apple 'this is what I've always wanted' on the consumers minds. These products are made with efficient care, time, material and quality control in their minds. Several mockup designs of each product, extensive testing and perfection was Job's idea of a best selling product rather than a cheap all segment product. (Thanks to Prof. Ugail for supporting my article by publishing an article on his column about how Apple integrated science and design. I wrote this article only a day before his article appeared on Haveeru News)
Each of their innovation won what they wanted. Mostly the hearts of the consumer. I am a die hard Apple fan but I don't envy other products. But what I'm seeing here is totally a bunch of useless chit chats about how this will look like, how great it is, how smooth and lighter it feels in your hands and color. Bullshit... I don't want color or feel in the hand as factors to make me believe that it was a product that I can rely on. It had to be both the hardware and the OS for me.
In the past recent years Microsoft was more into rebranding their logo and re-creating their online services rather than making their rather sloppy OS a success until they announced Win8. I hope it would be a worthy successor to its predecessors. And again, their tablet and the new mobile OS to become a winner in the hearts of their consumers. Recent reports from The Verge tech editor's denoted some useful new features on the newly announced Win8. If so, I'll have a copy too for my personal use after years from staying away from Windows.
What they did for the past eight years is that they had given us a bunch of different Windows (beautiful) logos in the past years but didn't succeed to win our hearts for the REAL product. Don't just innovate the image, innovate and recreate everything that sells, whether it's a product or service. I am tired about almost everything that came from Microsoft since I bought a third gen Apple iPod. That alone won my heart and the desire to go for Apple products. Microsoft was a fav before Apple emerged out of the blue with all the Macs, iPhones, iPods and the ever successful iPads.
